Cookies Notice
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files sent from a website you are browsing to your computer. Your computer stores the cookies inside your web browser. Cookies have many different jobs. For example, they allow us and our service providers to identify returning visitors and tell us things such as how many people visited our websites, the pages that were accessed, and whether there were any technical problems in loading pages. We also use cookie information for security purposes and to display information more effectively. By collecting this information, we learn what parts of our websites are the most interesting or valuable to our visitors, and can monitor the overall interest in, and functioning of, our websites. Cookies also help to ensure that advertisements you see online are more relevant to you and your interests, and we may use cookies to track responses and views of our advertisements. There are other technologies that are similar to cookies, such as web beacons, which are also known as internet tags, pixels and clear GIFs. These technologies function like cookies, and we refer to cookies and these similar technologies collectively as cookies for purposes of this Notice. You can find more information about cookies at: www.allaboutcookies.org/verify. Some cookies can collect personal information, including information you disclose like your username or other identifiers that are collected together with your browsing history and activity, to deliver more relevant advertising content.
Do We Use Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies?
Yes. Like virtually all websites, our website uses cookies to collect and store information. Some of the cookies we use are temporary and are discarded as soon as you end your session or close your web browser. Other cookies, called persistent cookies, remain on your computer’s hard drive for longer periods of time, after which they expire, or until you delete them. Further, some of the cookies on our websites are first-party cookies, meaning that we create and place them on your computer when you visit our websites. Other cookies, known as third-party cookies, are placed on your computer when you visit our websites but are stored by other service providers or third-party domains. We do not control the placing or use of information collected by such third-party cookies, and we are not responsible for third parties’ use of cookies. These companies have their own privacy policies and data collection practices. Please refer to each company’s privacy policy to better understand the controls available to you. The purpose of the third-party cookies of which we are aware is to provide audience measurement, limit repeat advertisements shown to you, social-sharing functions, and customize content or advertising.
What Are the Types of Cookies That Websites Use?
There are four general categories of cookies that are used on websites: Strictly necessary (also known as required or essential) cookies: These cookies are required to move around a website and use its features, such as browsing as a registered visitor or making a purchase. Our website uses strictly necessary cookies. You may be able to block these cookies through your browser settings, but some parts of the websites may not function properly. These cookies do not store any personally identifiable information. Performance cookies: These cookies collect information about how visitors use a website, such as the number of visitors browsing the site or a particular section of the site, the pages visitors go to most often, and whether they get error messages from web pages. These cookies do not collect information that identifies a specific visitor. Rather, the information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. The information that we gather through performance cookies is used to improve how the websites work, to help us evaluate website usage, make our marketing more relevant, and improve your experience. Tools that perform website analytics, such as Google Analytics, use performance cookies to generate reports about a website’s traffic and the sources of that traffic. They can also be used to recognize you across platforms and devices. These tools tell website owners how many visitors came to their website, and whether those visitors came to the website after clicking on a link in a search engine or via another referral source. In this way, the website is able to evaluate website traffic as well as the ways to increase website traffic. Like virtually all websites, we use performance cookies. Functional cookies: These cookies enable our website to remember choices made by website visitors (such as username, and region) and provide enhanced, more personal features. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have added to our website. This allows websites to improve user experience. We use functional cookies. Targeting cookies: These cookies are used to deliver online advertisements both on and off websites visited that may be more relevant to visitor interests based on activity from a website being browsed and based on a profile built of visitor interests. They may also be used to limit the number of times visitors see an advertisement and to help measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. We use targeting cookies. These targeting cookies do not directly store personal information (such as names or email addresses), but store unique identifiers that identify us and our partners a particular visitor’s browser and/or device.
Am I Required to Accept Cookies to Use This Website?
No. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but most browsers also allow you to disable or manage the use of cookies to adjust the types of cookies you want to accept. Please note that if you choose to disable all cookies, some portions of our websites, as well as most other websites, may not work properly.
How Do I Block or Manage Cookies?
There are several ways you may be able to block or manage cookies. Certain of our websites offer cookie tools that provide information and allow you to manage your preferences. For our websites that do not currently offer this functionality, you can take the steps described below. Please note that the steps described below must be taken on each browser or device you use, and if you change browsers or devices you must take these steps again on the new browser or device. You may be able to disable and manage cookies through your browser. If you do, you can still browse our website but may not be able to use many of its features. Several popular browsers offer guidance on how to manage cookies:
To find information relating to other browsers, visit the browser developer’s website. You can also visit http://www.aboutcookies.org.
Controls for Do-Not-Track Features
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track (“DNT”) feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Notice. To opt-out of interest-based advertising by advertisers on our Services visit http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ or the EU-based Your Online Choices. Please note that these choices will not opt you out of receiving advertisements. You will continue to receive generic advertisements
How Long We Keep Your Information
We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Notice unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements). No purpose in this notice will require us to keep your personal information for longer than the period of time in which users have an account with us. When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.
Keeping Your Information Secure
We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security, and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, the transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk. You should only access the Services within a secure environment.
How Can You Help Protect Your Information?
If you are using a Eduirvine.com website or application for which you registered and chose a password, you should not divulge your password to anyone. We will never ask you for your password in an unsolicited phone call or in an unsolicited email. Also, remember to sign out of the Eduirvine.com website and close your browser window when you have finished your work. Please note that unencrypted email is not a secure method of transmission, as information in such emails may be accessed and viewed by others while in transit to us. For this reason, we prefer that you not communicate confidential or sensitive information to us via regular unencrypted email. We will, however, honor patient requests for communications through unencrypted email.
Links to Other Sites
Our website may contain links to other websites that we do not own or operate. If you access those links, you will leave our website. Eduirvine.com does not control those third-party websites or their privacy practices, which may differ from ours. We do not endorse or make any representations about third-party sites, including about the content or security of those sites. The information you choose to provide to or that is collected by these third parties is not covered by this Privacy Notice. We, therefore, recommend that you review the privacy notice of any third-party websites.
Children’s Privacy
We do not knowingly collect information from children (as defined by local law) and we do not target our website or applications to children. If we learn that we have collected any information from children, we will delete it.
